Interview with Loic & Manu from the Snowpark VALLOIRE - VALMEINIER
Short designer history and which features do you still ride: Manu: the big ones, Loic: all of them without any exeptions
Short snow park history: Long and progressive for about 10 years
Shaper Crew: 4 seasoners (Loic, Manu, Yan + 1) and Kinkin (special works)
Cat shaping hours per season:
Position of the park: It´s situated almost at the top of the area, North – North-East oriented
earthforms: Pipe and bigger expert line are earthformed
Park philosophy: ride or die, bigger better. Unknown but why it is forbidden to have riders in the Maurienne valley?
Percentage of park areas: Pro 50%, Public 25%, Easy 25%
The importance of a Pro area: Do you mean it is useless? Come on! The shapers can ride, we can make good pics and footage out of it, it pushes the level up and stimulates the riders
Local Pro rider: Vince Rambaud, Arnaud Masclet, Alchemy Crew and all the Maurienne valley
General news for 07/08: Medium zone alongside the pipe enlarged, boxes, c-rail, adjustable freeriding, soundsystem and BBQ open
Events 07/08: Snow Kids Tour, Willy´s memory, Road Gap at the Galibier
Shape and style of the obstacles: Harcore! No, actually rather smooth and polyvalent ski/snowboard
Shape and style of the rails and boxes: Adaptable boxes from SNOWBOX
Planned park modification or changes later in the season: Constant evolution of the park according to the weather and the snowfalls. It changes all the time
Top nationalities: FRA, NL, BL
How about a (super)pipe: Standing and polyvalence, kick and beauty of the feature. Olympic discipline!
Epic or crazy events happened in the past: Gimlits jokes, the step up at the lake (a massive building site and now it´s impossible to ride it anymore cause the lake is full of water!)
Freeride possibilities in the backcountry: What´s up? UNLIMITED (the ski slopes area just occupies 10% of the resort´s mountains)
